France Telecom Posts Q1 Sales Increase

France Telecom has announced a modest rise in first-quarter sales thanks to strong growth at its mobile operation in emerging markets. In its first-quarter prelims, the French carrier posted revenue up 1.8% 12.84bn euros ($17.47bn) compared to 12.62bn euros ($17.16bn) on a historical basis. FT said the integration of acquisitions into the figures had been offset by unfavorable exchange rates. Net income figures were not disclosed.  Full story »
